Embracing inclusivity: Cultivating safe and inclusive learning environments for gender and sexually-diverse youth

This online webinar on sexual orientation, gender identity and expression (SOGIE) inclusive education is co-hosted by UNESCO and the World Bank.

Featuring a diverse array of speakers, including government representatives, academics, educational experts, LGBTIQ+ activists, and youth representatives, the event aims to provide a global perspective on the challenges and benefits of including SOGIE-related issues in and through education.

The webinar will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (New York, EST) and 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Paris, CET).

Simultaneous interpretation will be available in English, Spanish, and International Sign Language.

Join us to hear and engage in discussions around what actions governments and multilateral organizations can take to promote SOGIE-inclusion in education, the role of local actors in creating inclusive educational environments for sexually and gender-diverse youth, and how SOGIE-inclusion can positively impact the overall educational experience.

Speakers will share insights from current research, address critical barriers, and present success stories in supporting LGBTIQ+ populations in education.
